Today I really felt that the 2nd shift Rackers showed their true colors. I was not having a good day, as I could not asleep last night (last time I looked at the clock it was 8:30 AM) so I was tired and cranky. One of finer monitoring techs, let me know that one of my tires was running low. So I go out to check and low and behold, I got a staple in one of my tires. I got the jack out and got the lug nuts removed, but the rim was stuck on and would not budge. After some banging and pulling, I decided to walk to the Shell Station to get some WD40.
I was happy to find that the Shell did have WD40, but the cashier insisted I paid with a $10 when infact I handed him a $20. He told me there was nothing he could do and that I could talk with the manager tomorrow, all the while making me out to be a thief. A very UNfanatical experience to say the least and I left ANGRY and insulted.
I get back and WD40′d the crap out of the stuck wheel and let it sit for awhile. After while there is a handful of rackers from different departments helping me get the tire off. After a fair amount of “dude sweat” we got the tire free and the spare installed.
8 Rackers from four different departments came to my aid, making sure that I was “squared away”. As angry as I am with that Shell station, I feel fortunate to work with Rackers that take care of their own. Big thanks to all the Rackers that helped me in my time of need.
so yesterday me and Hart went to the Ranch for the day. It was perectly timed as work is getting crazy and I was having a rough day on Saturday. It was a typical ranch trip, shooting, 4-wheelin’, beers and the weather was awesome.
The picutre is a elk rack that was shead by the bull elk. Not its sitting on a king size bed.
Mom would be so proud!
Pork chops with rice and sun tea. Yum
discovered a new band while watching Austin City Limits got to see my brother at Six Flags where I lost my keys (no link cause I LOST THEM) but I didn’t lose my car key, but luckily I got another one from my apartment complex(seen below).
Me and Hart made a Walmart run to get a 2nd Playstation controller. When we walked in, I said I was going to walk out with something I don’t need. Low and behold I got a money hat, I was SOOO wrong.
I have been over due for a day off and today is the day. Good gawd it feels good.
The past two week ends have been busy, Warren and D’s wedding followed with Ryan’s birthday bash and helping Loveless move. While the parties were great and moving is always a bitch it was so draining. After a week at work I need so down time and I have really been getting much of that lately.
With the ramp up for the holidays about to start at work and fall allergies aka the Cedar Fever right around the corner the next month will be…. uh…. fun!
It is awesome having Hart in town and around the office. And it was great that he got in for our recent team outing even if it was as good as our other ones.
yes, I know I haven’t updated this thing in forever and maybe yesterday’s awesomeness will spur me to update more often.
So yesterday I got invited to be part of ‘lunch with leadership’. There was about 20 of us and the president and the ceo. It was just a time to share what we love and what is frustrating about the rack. Great meeting with tons of laughs.
Then I get a promotion and a raise! woot!
Then I fixed the screen on my phone that I broke the day previously. See pic for the damage.
Plus today is System Administrator Appreciation Day!
Seeing that Bud Light doesn’t have much flavor, it tastes like a Bloody Mary without the booze. I don’t get all these trendy ‘booze’ drinks like Miller Chill and Smirnoff’s Raw Tea.
