I spent some of my xmas cash and picked up The Lord of The Rings extended edition box set. It only comes with 12 DVDs!!! After unrapping an obsence amount of shrink wrap and 4 security stickers (which I cut myself taking the bloody thing off), I popped in the 2nd disc from Return of The King to test the 6.1 surround sound.

This was the first time I have ever heard anything in 6.1. Getting it to work was no hassel, just set the dvd to play in 6.1 and the receiver’s auto setting picked it right up. At first I really couldn’t tell the different between 5.1 and 6.1, but when the action picked up I could tell. The center rear channel adds alittle more to the surrund sound experence.

This Christmas I got some really cool gifts.

Owen hooked me up with an awesome Cheat Commandos t-shirt from Home Star Runner.net “Its dot com!”

Zack gave be a great DVD, Down From the Mountain. It features a concert with all the music from the O Brother, Where Art Thou? sound track. I had never seen the movie, but I knew almost all of the songs. Watching the DVD brought back very old memories from when I was very young driving though the Carolinas on a family vacation.

My dad got me a book of the worst album cover ever. It is a funny book.

And my mom gave the gift everone likes, cash!! Its all about the Benjamins baby!

Oh and Mother Nature came though strong with SNOW!

Over all it was a great Christmas!! Now bring on a GREAT NEW YEAR!
