More Nerdy Stuff

Posted by | moblog | Thursday 31 March 2005 11:17 am

Just incase my last two posts this week were not nerdy enough, I would like to point out that is spring allergy season. For those of you who have seen me this time of year you know it is not pretty. I pop Claritin like its candy and keep all the windows shut but it really doesn’t help. It just flat out sucks. Here are the current number according to The City of Houston:

As you can tell, today is bad and my sinuses are totally screwed. I guess I will be sequestered in the nerditorium for the rest of the day.

BLAH!

I noticed this the other day when watching Stargate SG-1. There is a scene in the espisode entitled Absolute Power* where a chalk board is full of fancy drawings and mathematical equations. The word “BLAH” appears to be somehow mixed in with all the techinal specs.

Did the set guy take his boss’s instructions to far?

…and set guy I need a chalk board full of drawings, some math stuff, blah blah blah, you get the pictures.

*as per Hart’s request, Absolute Power was part of the 4th season and its espisode 417.

Another day…

Another day and NOT another dollar.

I applied over at ev1.net today. Hopefully something will come of it. Only 20 something miles from the house, *eyeroll*.

Atleast I got time to work on computers. The black one is my dad’s and the other is Owen’s. One will be a media box while the other will be a game rig. The study now has five computers and 3 monitors!

someone give me a job!

Almost forgot about this one

Long Time no Post

Posted by | moblog | Tuesday 22 March 2005 3:50 pm

OK, so it has been forever since I have posted last. Nothing really excited to report. The couple jobs that looked promising have dried up. If you know of anything, hook a brother up. Also the thought of me going to Minneapolis for awhile has also gone the way of the dodo bird. Both of these have be bumbed out. I was excited about the jobs and I thought long and hard about Minneapolis, it is just bumber that none of them worked out.

Since I don’t have a job I have gotten a change to catch up on much needed TV watching. I am now a big fan of Star Gate SG-1 a moive spin off tv show on SciFi. Family Guy and Futurama are also topping my list. I was also quite impressed with Paycheck. It was a moive I wanted to see in the theater but just never got around to it.

Willie(see my last post) is being a cute little puppy. He may be cute but he is no doubt still puppy. Potty training is still ongoing but better. The crying and whining in the morning is the only real bad thing he does, so you can’t really complain. I feel and hope that it won’t last too much longer. It is nice to have a dog around the house.

Well thats all I got for now, I am going to go back to my bmx xbox game.

New Dog

Ken, my room-mate, got a 12 week old puppy named Willie today. He is a blue heeler / border collie mix. Honey, my mom’s dog, and him seem to be playing well together. He is 3/3 peeing and 3/3 pooping outside, lets hope these stats continue.

*fingers crossed*

mc chirs

Well today I want to do something alittle different, no random low rez pics and snippets of whats going on in my life. Today is album review day.

I came across mc chris and his first album intitled Life’s A Bitch And I’m Her Pimp. While it is hard to pigeon hole his music into one genre, I would call it electronic hip-hop. mc chris raps like a cross between Eminem and Chingo Bling. Granted that much of a complement, but his raps do have a nice smooth flow to it. The album is only has 8 tracks (4 of them are skits) with a playtime of 17 minutes. The skits are nothing special but the songs got a great vibe.

Like all most all modern rap almost all the music in Life’s A Bitch And I’m Her Pimp is sampled. The album features samples from Steve Martin’s stand up, vomitting, Star Wars Gansta rap, and randon techno beats. I like the seemlessly endless random references we uses in his rhymes, i.e. fraggle rock, Fred Savage, Stove Top stuffing just to name a few. “Fuckin up my Christmas” is a great track about the challenges from dealing with the oppsite sex, while “The Tussin” is a more serious track about robitussin addiction. My favorite track on the album is “Fett’s Vett” cause I have never heard a good song about a bounty hunter.

Even though is it a very short album I give it 4 out of 7 Gs.
