Back in the heart of Texas

I have not been in a blogging mood for quite a while, but here is short recap of what happened while I was in MN.

I left for MSP on Mother’s day to join my mom after Aunt Jenny died. She lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 46. When it got really bad, it went really fast. She worked 6 days before she died. There was a service at her place of work that Tuesday then another one for family that Thursday in Highland, IN.

Once those two services were over, we had to deal with the furneal home, a lawyer, empty her apartment and settle thing with the senior home my grandmother lives in. Mom and I lived out of Jenny’s small one bedroom apartment untill we got it emptied. If sleeping on a couch and living with your mom for 2 weeks isn’t hard enough, we had to deal with her estate and all of her caring friends (I got sick of talk to people I don’t know about the same stuff over and over). I so tired in every way you can be, body, mind, soul and spirit. Every morning I woke up tired and needed a break, but stuff had to get done. And every night I was so tired I wondered if I could mustard enough engery to do another long hard day. Luckily we got some much needed and timely help from one of Jenny’s friends that we didn’t know.

I got more bad news about half way though my trip. A call from Houston came informing me that a good friend has come down with brain cancer. And the really fucked up part is he is a brain surgen at one of the best cancer hospitals.

All that to say, it is good to be home. Be thanks to everyone that called or emailed me while I was gone. It meant alot.

Back in Minneapolis

We got back into Minneapolis and grandma wanted to go out to eat, so we went to Bunny’s.

They had Shiner on tap, and wanting a taste of home I had one. Shiner is so not St. Arnold’s.

:tired:

Celebration of Life

Today we had a celebrarion of life service at my Aunt’s work. It was a nice service. I only took a couple of pics of the remembrance table. (I wasn’t in the picure taking mood) It was nice to meet and hear all the nice things Aunt Jeeny’s friends and coworkers had to say. After the service a big group went to Maxwell’s, a happy hour spot that was one of Jenny’s favorties, for a couple beers.

Tomorrow we head to Indiana for another service, this time for family that couldn’t make it up.

Aunt Jenny’s Obituary

Posted by geeseven | moblog | Monday 9 May 2005 10:41 am

Aunt Jenny’s Obituary in The Star Tribune:

Jenny Louise Moberg

Moberg Jenny Louise Moberg, age 46, of St Louis Park, Minnesota, passed away May 6 at Methodist Hospital after a courageous struggle with breast cancer. Jenny was a devoted friend who touched the lives of many through her extraordinary compassion and faithful friendship. Born, March 2, 1959, to Carl and Dorothy Moberg, in Highland Indiana, Jenny earned a bachelors degree from Indiana University and worked as a recreational therapist for Andrew Residence. Her gifts to us all were her incredible compassion, ready laugh, beautiful smile, and welcoming spirit. We are grateful for the circle of friends and family who enveloped her with love during her illness. Many lives have been touched by the moments shared with this incredibly courageous and constant friend. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 10 at 2:30 pm at Andrew Residence, 1215 South 9th St., Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, it is preferred that memorials be sent to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
